Director of Legal & Corporate Affairs
Alan Savage has been practicing law for 12 years and has been involved in several high profile cases. He has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, construction law and real estate law. Mr. Savage has appeared before all levels of Court in Ontario including the Provincial Court, Superior Court, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. He has also handled cases in the Federal Court of Canada and has argued appeals before the Ontario Municipal Board.
Mr. Savage initially attended business school at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (honors). He thereafter moved to England, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Southampton. Mr. Savage continued his studies at the University of Western Ontario where he earned his second law degree, with a concentration in commercial and tax law.
Mr. Savage has served clients from across Canada and around the world, including the Caribbean, Dubai, India, Italy, France and the United States. His clients have included builders, developers, banks, insurance and trust companies as well as corporations in the hospitality, franchising, transportation, import/export, education and manufacturing industries.
As part of the YYZed team, Mr. Savage oversees all legal matters. He assists with the coordination of municipal planning and zoning issues, Tarion applications, bonding requirements and construction financing. He also prepares project development agreements and construction contracts and works in concert with other YYZed executives to streamline planning and administration issues so that projects are successfully completed on their scheduled dates.
